N.F.T.M. was founded by Zak Lyons, a native of Brooklyn NY, who presently resides in the Los Angeles, CA area.

After having previously done the male vocal group thing, then later collaborating with local musicians and vocal groups by writing lyrics, Zak decided to take a hiatus from music entirely for a period of ten years.

 

However, something kept calling him back to music.

 

Moving to California was the catalyst that propelled him to delve into music further... this time focusing on writing musical soundscapes, all with one primary agenda in mind. Which is to create music completely different than mainstream music currently being played on the radio.

Where most musicians are driven to emulate the popular sounds of the day, NFTM's approach has been to carve out a "new" niche of musical sound.

This project, and the music contained on this site, is the culmination and exploration of that concept & philosophy.
